>The activity of any archive is impossible without automatic database. On the one hand, it allows the archivists to have all information about the volumes, composition, location and demand for every case. On the other hand, it allows the researchers to look through the descriptions of the funds, electronic images of the cases and order needed documents online. In order to combine the requests of archivists and researchers a presentation of a new electronic recourse “Archium” was carried out in Central State Archive of public associations of Ukraine. This recourse makes possible access to the funds of the archive online. “Archium” was created by  Archival Information Systems Company.

Software complex is the basis of this recourse and it allows:

-To create a common base of information of the archive;

-To exhibit digitized documentary collections of the archive online;

-To introduce a ramified reference apparatus of funds of the archive;

-To search for full-texted information;

-To order documents to the reading room through the option “Personal office”;

-To automatize inner work process in the archive which is connected with completing, accounting and moving archive documents, creating and improvement reference apparatus, using documents, etc.

Created recourse now has full-texted information about the funds of the archive, hundreds of cases, a number of names, geographical names and organizations, digitized copies of the documents. We are sincerely happy for our colleagues. What is more, they have bought a modern scanner of the archives «Zeutschel» recently that is used for digitizing available cases.
